Suspension of US duties for Italian spirits

Truce between the EuropeanXand the United States of America on the Boeing-Airbus issue, which had led the Trump administration to provide for additional duties on the import of typical Made in Italy foodstuffs including spirits.
A controversy that, in 2020 alone, caused a 40% drop in the value of exports of Italian spirits.
The agreement - arrived on the sidelines of the G7 in June 2021 - therefore establishes a 5-year stop of the measures previously envisaged and will give the parties all the time it takes to find a permanent long-term agreement to definitively close the dispute.
The National Industrial Association of Alcohol and Brandy Distillers (AssoDistil) expressed its satisfaction.
