"Distillates"
Distillates (or brandies) are alcoholic drinks obtained from the distillation of fermented liquids of plant origin. All vegetable substances, with a good sugar content, can be fermented by yeasts and transformed into alcoholic liquids; the distillation allows the partial separation of alcohol from water, resulting in a drink with a higher alcohol content. During the evaporation process, the alcohol carries with it some substances that will give the product specific characteristics in terms of taste, scent and colour, typical of the starting base.
