Anise
Plant used for its aromatic qualities. This has been used since the antiquity. Pitagora mentioned an anise drink able to relieve pain. At present, anise aperitifs are used after water dilution becoming with greenish grey colour. The most well known alcoholic drinks, based on anise, are Sambuca in Italy; the Ouzo and the Mastik in Greece; the Raki in Turkey; the Arak in Syria and in Libano; the Anisette and the Pastis in France.
